I know what you mean about Wilco. I kept hearing their songs for the longest time, but they seemed to all run together and never really captured my interest. I even saw them live about 5 or 6 years ago, and didn’t remember it until I saw them last week on their new tour.

However, I have to say that I have a new appreciation for Jeff Tweedy and co after seeing them again. I thought it might end up being a wimpy show, since so much of their music on Sky Blue Sky seemed introspective, but they really rocked it! And, despite the big space, there were more than a few moments when I could imagine I was hearing them at a small club. (That could have been all the beer I drank, though.)

So, I agree with you: the new CD is definitely one of their strongest, and most distinctive efforts I’ve heard.

I lurve Wilco, and this album definitely has a loose feel, befitting a mature band. Love this new album!!
